Selection and application of grinding wheel for NC roll grinder

The grinding wheel is a particularly important tool in the grinding process for the roll grinder. It is a component in direct contact with the roll body. The quality of the grinding wheel, the selection and correct use of the grinding wheel, the dressing of the grinding wheel before grinding and the operator's familiarity with the characteristics of the grinding wheel directly determine the surface quality of the roll and whether it can meet the process requirements. Therefore, the selection of grinding wheel is mainly based on the requirements of roll material, hardness and surface roughness, and the selection of abrasive, particle size, hardness, binder and structure of grinding wheel. At the same time, it is comprehensively analyzed and used according to the requirements of aluminum processing products, the characteristics of NC roll grinder and grinding technology.

There are three grinding wheel selection principles. 1) Good cutting performance and high metal removal rate during rough grinding. 2) During fine grinding, the grinding wheel has good contour and micro edge, and the grinding heat is small. 3) The use is economical and reasonable. As a CNC roll technician, it is particularly important to understand the manufacturing, selection and use process of grinding wheel in detail, and master the characteristics of grinding wheel and the differences between domestic and foreign grinding wheels, so as to improve the skills of operating roll grinder.
